In Owerri, a ball is more than a game — it's a way up. We give every child a safe place to play, a coach who believes in them, and a real path to be seen by the world. Stand with us.
Free training, meals & mentorship — every weekend in Owerri.
Teams for every age and stage — starting with the ball, going far beyond it.
Talent is everywhere in Nigeria — opportunity is not. Too many gifted, hard-working children in and around Owerri never get a safe field, proper boots, or a coach who truly sees them. Not because they lack the dream, but because no one ever gave them the chance.
Ukwuoma Football Academy exists to change that. We build a free, safe academy where football becomes the reason a child shows up, stays in school, eats a good meal, and learns the discipline, teamwork and belief that carry them far beyond the pitch — all the way to the world stage. Every child who plays here is proof of what's possible when someone chooses to believe.
Free, well-run training grounds in Obazu Mbieri where every child is welcome and protected.
Trusted adults who develop the whole young person, on and off the field.
Play is tied to staying in school, with meals and support built into every session.
Showcases, trials and scouting links for those who dream of playing at the highest level.
Coach Ray grew up loving football on the streets of the East, where dreams were big and resources were small. He knows first-hand what a caring coach and a real chance can do for a young life.
He founded Ukwuoma Football Academy in Obazu Mbieri, Owerri with one belief: that every Nigerian child — no matter where they're born — deserves a safe place to play, someone in their corner, and a genuine shot at being seen by the world.
Today he leads a growing team of coaches and volunteers turning that belief into training grounds, mentorship and a pathway that carries local talent onto the global stage.
We measure success not in trophies, but in children who are healthier, more confident, still in school, and dreaming bigger — right here in Owerri.
Sample figures — the academy can replace these with verified numbers in the dashboard.
Behind every statistic is a young person whose life changed course. Here are a few of them.
“Give a child a ball, and you give them a reason to dream. Give them a coach, and you give them a way to get there.”— Coach Ray Ukwuoma
